The literary evening “The Laureates” (originally titled “Ovjenčani”), held at the Prijedor Theater, was a true ode to art and human connection. On a single stage, before a packed auditorium, stood four legendary bards of our literary tradition—Pero Zubac, Ljubivoje Ršumović, Matija Bećković, and Dušan Kovačević. Their presence, words, and the emotions they evoked left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who attended.
The gathering of The Laureates, all four crowned and united by the prestigious “Wreath of Kozara – Skender Kulenović” award, was more than merely a sharing of stories—it was a transmission of the spirit of an era, the preservation of memories, and the reaffirmation of values that bind us as a community. Their words, delivered with grace and experience, were deeply personal yet universal, demonstrating the enduring power of literature to inspire and move us.
This extraordinary evening was made possible through the vision and dedication of Nikola’s grandfather, our dear Zoran Stanić, who brought these treasured guests together and orchestrated an event that Prijedor will long remember. The “Nikola Baroš Foundation” was honored to co-organize this special occasion, joyfully contributing to its magic.
This event would not have been possible without the financial support of the City of Prijedor, and the selfless collaboration of the “Sreten Stojanović” Gallery, the event’s primary organizer. Our mutual dedication formed the foundation upon which this evening, brimming with art and unity, was built.
Adding a unique charm to this evening was poet Mirjana Bulatović, whose warm and inspired hosting created an atmosphere in which the words of our literary giants resonated even more deeply. Mirjana’s presence on stage was like a quiet yet powerful breeze, carrying the message of art across time and space.
Music, as always, found its rightful place. Milica Milović, accompanied by her guitar, was the perfect complement to the verses, connecting the audience through melodies that filled the theater with emotion. Milica was the magical element that completed the evening, reminding us of the inseparable bond between art and feelings.
This night was far more than a cultural event. It was a poignant reminder of the power of words to illuminate moments, to connect us, and to inspire. In every applause, every tear, and every smile from the audience, the strength of art was palpable, fulfilling Nikola’s heartfelt wish: that people would come together through a shared love of creation and the spirit of giving.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who was part of this enchanting evening—our esteemed bards, our collaborators, the City of Prijedor, the “Sreten Stojanović” Gallery, and every individual in the audience who gave this night its soul. The synergy of words, music, and emotion proved just how essential art is to our lives.
We express our special gratitude to Ljubivoje Ršumović, Mirjana Bulatović, Pero Zubac, and Milica Milović, who generously waived their fees on behalf of the “Barošica” project.
We eagerly look forward to future opportunities to continue building a world where love and art take center stage. ❤️
