The Tree That Blooms with Love
When we founded the Foundation, we knew one thing for certain—there is no end. Love does not stop. It does not disappear. It only grows, embraces more tightly, and gives meaning to everything in this life.
Nikola taught us that joy lies in giving. That kindness is greatest when shared. And that friends are the family we choose.
The focus of our Foundation are children and young people. Its heartbeat echoes in their classrooms, their smiles, their hands held together. We could not have imagined how deeply our hearts would remain tied to his school, his friends, and the entire community. And then, on March 6, 2025, we received confirmation of what we had long felt—love knows no end.
In their classroom, among old desks and new dreams, in embraces that heal, in a glance that speaks more than words, an idea was born. Nikola’s friends, their parents, and their teacher Biljana Tambić decided to plant a Japanese cherry tree in the schoolyard.

A tree that will grow tall, just like their love. A tree whose every blossom will be a child’s smile, every branch a memory, every leaf a gentle reminder that friendship endures. That what was beautiful never truly leaves—it simply continues to live in another form.

The Japanese cherry tree blooms briefly but magnificently. Its strength lies in that bloom—for it is not about how long something lasts, but how much light it leaves behind. Nikola left behind light. He left friends who feel deeply, who know how to preserve love and celebrate memories with life. He left behind a school community that understands the immeasurable power of togetherness.
This tree will not stand just anywhere. His friends planted it across from the future site of an open-air classroom—Baroshica. As if they instinctively knew where it belonged. To be a symbol of growth, its branches spreading wide to shelter the children who will learn, dream, and create there. To remind everyone who passes by that love is strongest when shared and that nothing truly sincere ever disappears. To stand proudly as a silent guardian of knowledge, friendship, and memories, watching over a space meant for future generations.
This is not a story of loss. This is a story of people who know how to love. Of children’s hands planting a tree of friendship. Of smiles that transform sorrow into strength. Of those who refuse to let anything beautiful come to an end—for as long as love exists, everything remains.
We should learn from children. In their simplicity lies all the wisdom of the world. In their hearts, the strength we too often forget. They teach us how to love sincerely, how to give without expectation, how to turn sadness into light. As someone endlessly dear and important to us, Radmila Brkić, so beautifully said:
“They are better than us.”
They have ensured that Nikola will not be forgotten. That he will live in every flower that blooms, in every leaf that dances in the wind, in every embrace of his friends. In the shadows cast by the cherry tree over Baroshica, in every smile of the children who will learn and dream there. In everything that grows, that is shared, and that remains forever. ❤️
VII 2, you are the best! ❤️
